Eight Chinese badminton players were kicked out
of the Olympics for trying to lose.
The last time there was this much talk about
badminton I was with my friends when I was a kid,
and we found out the thing you hit
in badminton is called a shuttlecock.
Because they didn’t want her to lose focus,
the family of Chinese swimmer Wu Minxia
hid from her that both of her grandparents
had died over a year ago,
and her mother had battled
breast cancer for eight years.
Unfortunately they did slip and told her who shot J.R.
on Dallas before she got to watch the episode.
Now let me get this straight:
NBC airs synchronized diving…
yet can’t synchronize having their cameras
at the event as it is actually happening.
NBC’s response to the “nothing live” controversy: ”
Hey, what about that live 30 Rock episode we aired?
You know who I feel bad for?
U.S. Olympic athletes who lose.
They can’t cash in…
won’t be on a Wheaties box,
be featured in People Magazine,
or be a guest on Letterman.
All that training and nothing to show for it.
